Spring Break! :-)

Spring Break starts this coming week. Russ and I will be going to Hungry Horse to visit my cousin Paul, and then hopefully over to Libby to visit his uncle Wayne. I'll find out when I see him tonight when we go. It all depends on his work schedule. Even though I'll be traveling a bit, I still have so much stuff to do for the week after spring break, it's not even funny. A laundry list of things for me to do to play catch up. But first.....
High Society Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This Friday, I'm going out to eat with a group of friends in formal wear, and hopefully some dancing. I just bought a new silver dress from Ross yesterday that is so stunning! I'm so excited for it! Bridget and I are going to be celebrating our birthdays! Her birthday was on the 6th, she turned 23, and mine was on the 8th, I turned 22. It's going to be a great way to start spring break before I start the hard core practicing for my recital, paper writing and research. I will do some scrap booking to maintain what little sanity I have left. If you're in Missoula any time this week, give me a call! I would love to take a break and visit! Take care! Love you all!

Working Late...

I work at the library on campus. Monday Nights I work from 6:30 to 9:30. It's only a little after 9pm, and I'm already really tired. I used to be able to stay up really late, and be fine getting up early. Now any more if I stay up later than 11, I have a hard time getting up at 8. Silly, right? The library stays open until 2am Sundays-Thursdays. I don't see how some people work can work until 2am. I mean it is nice that the library is open that late to get some late night research or studying done, but working it would be crazy. I would not be able to do it. One of my coworkers works on Mondays from 8:30 at night to 2 in the morning. I don't know which one would be worse, opening and being here at 6:30 in the morning, or closing at 2am, and having to stay here until 2:30 am to close. I did open during the summer, but that wasn't bad at all because I wasn't busy, and then only thing I really did was work. Waking up early like that wasn't so bad because once I was done, I had the whole day to do what ever. But I do love working at the library. Fridays are my favorite days to work though. I work in the afternoon on Friday, and it's so much fun! Fridays are some of the slower days, so not a lot happens. I'm getting to know some of the people who work here well enough to joke around with them, and talk about random things. My supervisor told me about how when he was in high school one of his friends would blow up propane tanks and get it on camera. Yeah, like I said, random! Another random topic was Sour Patch Watermelons. By the way if you haven't tried them, they are amazing! My co-worker dropped a book or something, and said, "You didn't see that" and then asked me what would it take for me to un-see it. I told for me to "un-see" it, he would have to go to the Market (a store on campus) and get me some sour patch water watermelons. They are fat free, so they can't be all bad for you, right?? Right... So, then we were on the topic of fat free foods vs. low carb... etc, etc... Fat free was in the 1990's, and today the focus is on carbs, and calories.Yup, random! I love it though, it really breaks up the monotony, which is what I need every day, or I would go crazy, more than I already have in my college career. Alright. Good night folks!!!

Monday

Monday Monday Monday...
It has been raining off and on today. I'm not sure if I would rather have rain or snow. They both bring good things, but rain is a great sign of spring. It is now spring, so rain is good.
Tomorrow I'm playing one of my pieces on afternoon recital hour at 2pm. The is piece is Sonata in F Major by G.F. Handel. It is a 4 movement work, and I absolutely love it! This time I will be playing it with piano, but for my recital it will be with harpsichord and bassoon. :) My friend Beth graciously agreed to do it at pretty short notice. Thanks Beth! You're the greatest! If any of you are in the area and have time, please come! It will be great! Enjoy the rain/sun, or whatever the weather is doing where you are!!

Almost Spring Break!!

Okay, so it's 11:50 pm, I should be in bed, but I'm not. I really want it to be spring break, NOW!!! It's not that bad, but when you have been going for a while, and you're starting to drag, it's time for a break. You're mind and body are telling you to stop because they're tired, but you just have to keep going. Spring Break will be so nice! Russ and I are planning a trip to Hungry Horse to visit my cousin Paul and his wife Mary Kay, and maybe Kerra Collins if she is around, and then maybe make a trip to Libby to visit Russ's uncle Wayne. I'm really excited, and it will really give me a chance to focus on my recital music. My friend just had her recital tonight, and I'm nervous for mine now! I'm worried because I have been playing flat lately, and when you strive for good pitch, it's frustrating and stressful. Sigh. Oh well, I will be fine. Practice with a tuner!!! Wednesday is the Vienna Bake Sale for flute choir!! So if any of you UMers are reading this, and are around the music building, stop by for some yummy treats! I will be making puppy chow!! Om nom nom!! Okay, the night isn't getting any younger, so time to get ready for bed and get ready for the last week of Spring Break! Time to prep for my recital, a presentation and 2 papers. Catch up week. Whoot!!! Take care blog readers, who ever you may be!!

WPA and Student Teaching

Hey folks! I'm going to need lots of prayer in the next couple of days. On Saturday I'm taking the WPA, the writing proficiency assessment. Every student @ U of M has to take it in order to graduate. Writing isn't my strength, so I'm really nervous for this test. I'm sure I'll be fine, but I just need extra prayer for the time being. :)
I just attended the student teaching seminar and I also have a lot of work to do in a month for the application. Music Education majors have to tern in their application in a year in advance because the field is so spread out, the school of education needs extra time for the placement. I'm hoping to go to Great Falls for the high school placement, and stay in Missoula for elementary. But, I'll see what God has planned for me, and where he wants me to go. It will all work out, and he will help me get all of the busy work done in time. The application is due on April 30th. But, first things first, the WPA. Lots of prayer and relaxing activities inbetween my studying so I don't get worked up and not let text anxiety get the best of me. I'm drinking citrus tea, instead of coffee, even though I already had my fill of that for the day. :) I'm opening at the library (subbing for a friend) tomorrow at 6:30  in the blessed am! I need the extra funding for Vienna, and he needed some one to cover his hours to look at masters programs at a college really far away. I forgot what he said exactly. He thought I was crazy for wanting to cover for him that early on a FRIDAY, but when you need the extra hours, you will take them when they come your way. On that note, I need to get going and have lunch so I can proceed with what I have planned for the day. Practicing for my recital, more studying, and working. My day will be done at 6:30 tonight, followed by relaxing evening with more studying, and watching TLC, MASH, or one of the movies that my parents got me for my birthday. "Hanging Up" or one of my favorites, and a classic in my book, "A League of Their Own". A long with partaking in raspberry or pomegranent tea. Sounds great to me! :) Russ is in Reno with the UM Symphonic Wind Ensemble and won't be back until Sunday early morning. Hopefully I get can confince him to still go to church at 11 am, but we'll see. :) Love you all, and take care!!

Vienna on my mind

Everything for Vienna is coming together. God has provided the funding, and a lot of people who are excited for me to do this have given very generously, and all of my friends and family are very excited and supporting. I am so excited for this opportunity! I can't wait to explore the music capital of the World! I will take lots of pictures, and try to keep them up dated on here and facebook, since I will have internet access there. I had to add this little blurb into my blog for those of you who read it. If you would like me to send you a post card, send me your address and will send you one while I'm there. I'm hoping to give a presentation on my trip and everything I did when I get back in Nashua, providing I can get the time and the place to do it. I will keep all of the Vienna updates on this blog. Thank you once again for all of your support, love and prayers!!

Friday... Where did you go???

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want it to be Friday! Well, friday @ 11am to be exact. I have a test that I'm super nervous for, and not looking forward to. For someone still dealing with test anxiety, it sucks! Excuse my poor language, but it does!!!
I haven't been sleeping all that well either. Bleh. Well, I guess instead of a blog post, this is more of a complaining freak out post. I don't like complaining, and I don't do it very often, at least I think I don't, but some times you just do, especially in freak out mode!!!! Bllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh!

But, 11 am will pass, and then it will be meeting up with a friend for lunch, working with awesome people and then a Jazz Concert to watch my boyfriend, and meet up with some friends of ours. :) Sigh. It will all be over soon. :)

Good night folks!!!

March is here!

March is here already! February flew by! This is my favorite month, it is the month of many birthdays for my family and friends. My best friend is coming back in a couple weeks and we're going to celebrate our birthdays together. :) I'm looking forward to it. Needless to say, I'm super busy, but then again... who isn't?

This week end Russ and I went to Missoula Maulers Hockey game. It was their first play off game, and they lost by one point. It was still fun, and a neat experience because I have never been to a hockey game before.

According to Russ I have surprise coming for my birthday, but I have no idea who, what, where or when. He knows it drives me crazy, but he laughs any way. :P Of course he would. :) Oh well, I'm looking forward to it. Even though it drives me nuts not knowing what is going on, it's worth the wait, and I know I'll love it no matter what. :)

It's also really beautiful out side and I'm in my instructional media class. We finished our group work early, so we're just hanging out and talking. I would much rather be out side going for a walk by the river, or just soaking up the early spring time sun. Go out side if you get the chance and enjoy it!!
